Frangible Airport Approach Structures
C-K Composites has manufactured runway-approach, light support towers for numerous airports in the United States.These low impact resistant (LIR) towers use light-weight, high strength, filament-wound, fiberglass masts to balance the dual airport runway requirements of safety and reliability.
The first frangible airport approach structures were developed and manufactured at the present C-K Composite facility in a joint venture with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
